Carp Rods

EatonRodCraft is based in the Eaton area of Norwich, Norfolk and has quickly become established as one of the premiere custom rod builders in Europe. In the beginning I felt there was room for a little fresh blood on the scene and originally set up refurbishing and repairing rods for friends and doing odd jobs by word of mouth. Word spread surprisingly quickly (as it tends to when you do a good job!) and I started taking commissions for full sets of new customs rods. I no longer do the repairs to refurbishments and now concentrate solely on the design and build of new, high end, hand crafted rod sets that can include matching spod and marker rods as well as landing nets.

Fuelled by a passion to create beautiful carp rods, custom builder John first discovered the joy of building his own rods as a teenager. Bored in the old close season, and with an old library book at hand, John set about his own rods with, it has to be said, mixed initial results! Carp fishing and carp rods make up the vast majority of out business but we are also able to produce specialist, match and fly fishing gear.

EatonRodCraft is a 'one man band' John will handle every aspect of your new rods from taking your initial enquiry, helping you with specification and then designing your rods, through to sourcing the components and hand crafting your rods.

Eaton Rod Craft

I am the man behind Eaton Rod Craft, a keen and accomplished lifelong angler. EatonRodCraft is, for the most part, a one man band, I run the website and FaceBook page, answers the emails, messages and calls and designs and builds the rods.

I started my angling career catching small perch in a local pond before progressing to match fishing in my early teens, twice winning the local club junior championship and heading up the club junior team. Things were looking good for a career in competitive angling before I was struck down with a life changing illness, an untreatable affliction known to many as Carp Fever!!

I am now based in Norwich, Norfolk and the fever is undiminished. These days I am just as likely to be found trotting a float for chub, stalking barbel or pursuing the gentle art of dry fly trout angling. Being a self confessed tackle tart makes a career in rod building the ideal choice for me, I have a deep seated love of angling and a passion for producing the finest quality fishing rods that I possibly can.
